STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS, INC. EXPANDS THEIR FCR SERIES OF THICK FILM USER TRIMMABLE SMD CHIP RESISTORS

RALEIGH, N.C. (May 13, 2008) - Resistor manufacturer Stackpole Electronics, Inc. (www.seielect.com) announces an expansion to the FCR series trimmable chip resistor. The FCR series is a thick film resistive technology device that is not laser trimmed and does not have a passivation coating. This allows the end user to place the part in the end product and then calibrate or tune the circuit to the desired parameters using a laser or abrasion wheel on the resistive element itself.

The FCR series has added the 0402 and 2512 to the previously available standard EIA sizes from 0603 to 2010. It is available in resistance values from 1 ohm up to 1 Meg ohms with 200 ppm standard TCR. There are 5 different resistance tolerance options to provide enough flexibility for most applications including +/-5%, +/-10%, +/-15%, +0/-20%, and +0/-30%.

The FCR is an ideal choice for instrumentation, metering, monitoring, and measurement equipment.

The FCR is a 100% RoHS compliant series and is available in standard 7” tape and reel packaging. Pricing varies greatly with size and tolerance and ranges from around $22 per thousand to $55 per thousand in minimum quantities.
