STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS, INC. EXPANDS THEIR POWER INDUCTOR PRODUCT OFFERING

RALEIGH, NC (July 10, 2008) - Stackpole Electronics, Inc. announces the expansion of their power inductor product offering. Among the additions are the CPS series shielded power inductor offering high current handling in a very small and cost effective package. Stackpole has also added several sizes to their VLH and PDRH series. These additions offer more options for the power design engineer and further Stackpole's commitment to the power marketplace.

The CPS1008 is a compact shielded power inductor measuring only 3.81 mm square by 2.54 mm high, and is capable of handling DC currents up to 2 amps. Because of its small size and economical design the CPS series is perfect for portable devices, laptops, PDA's, and other handheld wireless communication devices. Pricing for the CPS series is around $.35 each in minimum quantities.

The VLH series is offered in shielded and unshielded configurations and adds three small sizes to its offering: 201609E, 201514, and 322515. These three new sizes offer high Q at high frequencies, making them ideal for high frequency communications devices that require higher current than the typical wirewound RF inductor can provide. The inductance range, current handling, and DC resistance varies widely from one size to the next; see the data sheet available on www.seielect.com for more details. The larger VLH sizes are optimized for high current and low DC resistance making them an excellent choice as a choke coil for DC power supply circuitry. Pricing for the VLH series varies with size and ranges from around $.18 to $.23 each for minimum quantities.

The PDRH series adds six new sizes; 0301, 0302, 0303, 0501, 0502, and 0503 are now available along with the existing 0418 size. The PDRH is a compact low profile shielded power inductor with the electrode attached directly to the ferrite core. This yields a part capable of high saturation current handling up to 4.82 amps and inductance values up to 10 mH, high for its relatively small size. The PDRH is a great choice for laptops, LCD displays and other types of terminals, and for all types of small size DC to DC converters. Pricing for the PDRH varies widely with size and ranges from around $.26 to $.50 each for minimum quantities.
