THE RPC SERIES FROM STACKPOLE OFFERS SUPERIOR PULSE HANDLING

RALEIGH, NC (August 1, 2008) - The RPC series from Stackpole is a line of surge withstanding thick film chips. The RPC is offered in the usual industry sizes from 2512 down to 0805, in resistance values from .27 ohms up to 22Meg, and in tolerances as low as 5%. The RPC offers pulse power handling of greater than 10 times the equivalent standard thick film chip resistor in the larger sizes. The RPC also offers higher pulse handling compared to the equivalent size SMD melf, ranging from roughly 2 times better up to nearly 6 times better depending on part size and pulse duration. The RPC is an outstanding low cost alternative to melfs which can have long lead times and can be difficult for manufacturing equipment to handle.

The RPC is a good choice for a variety of applications including utility meters, switch mode power supplies, small motor controls, medical electronics especially portable devices, metering and diagnostic equipment, industrial controls, and LCD and Plasma displays and monitors.

The RPC series is 100% RoHS compliant, is available on standard 7" reels in 4K or 5K increments depending on size. Pricing for the RPC is size and tolerance dependent and ranges from $57 per thousand to $170 per thousand in minimum quantities. Contact Stackpole Electronics, Inc. for volume pricing.
