STACKPOLE'S CSS / CSSH SERIES IS IDEAL FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY CURRENT SENSING APPLICATIONS

RALEIGH, NC (July 21, 2009) - Today's portable electronics continue to push toward achieving higher efficiency. Whether it's for longer battery life or for downsizing to add features to the product, the resulting requirements need current sensing resistors with the lowest possible resistance value. Stackpole's CSS / CSSH Series offers resistance values down to 0.25 milliohm in a standard surface-mounted chip package. This series is also rated for full-power operation up to 100ºC and has an operating temperature range of up to 275º C, both of which are among the best in the industry.

The CSS / CSSH is available in 1206, 2010, 2512, 2725, and 2728 size packages. TCR's range from 15 ppm to 50 ppm with tolerances as low as 0.5%. This series is capable of 3 watts in a 2512 size chip, and offers a 4 watt power rating for the 2725 and 2728 chip sizes. This series is ideal for laptops, portable test equipment, bar code scanners, medical monitoring and diagnostic equipment, communications equipment such as WAN / LAN / and RF networking, energy monitoring, metering equipment, electric power tools, sensors and sensing / detection equipment, DC to DC converters, voltage regulators, motor controls, motion controls and instrumentation.

Nearly 80 part numbers are currently in stock from Stackpole directly or through Digi-key. The CSS / CSSH Series is available in standard 7" tape and reel packaging. Pricing varies widely with size, resistance value, and tolerance and ranges from $0.175 each to $0.50 each in full reel quantities. Contact Stackpole for volume pricing.
