Stackpole's RSF and RSMF Power Metal Oxide Thru Hole Resistor Series Features High Operating Temperatures

RALEIGH, NC (April 21, 2010) - Stackpole Electronics, Inc. offers its RSF Series and RSMF Series, low-cost metal oxide thru hole resistors for applications with power requirements beyond that of standard metal film resistors. Due to its cost effective power film resistive element and laser spiral calibration, the RSF Series and RSMF Series are good alternatives to costly carbon composition resistors that have become more difficult to obtain. In addition, these resistors are ideal replacements for wirewounds up to 5 watts when inductance or cost becomes an issue. This series also offers high operating temperatures of up to 200ºC for the RSF ½ and RSMF 1 and up to 235ºC for the other sizes. The RSF Series and RSMF Series are inherently fusible, as all film resistors are, and comes with a standard flame retardant coating.

The RSF Series and RSMF Series are available in standard and mini ½ watt to 5-watt sizes in resistance values generally ranging from 0.1 ohms up to 510K. TCR for the series is 200 ppm and 1% and 5% tolerances are standard. These two series are available in standard tape and reel packaging and are RoHS compliant. Pricing varies with size and tolerance and ranges from $0.03 to $0.39 each in full reel quantities. Contact Stackpole or one of our franchised distributors for volume pricing.
