RALEIGH, NC (August 1, 2004) - SEI Electronics, Inc. today announced it has officially changed its name to Stackpole Electronics Incorporated (SEI). The Stackpole Carbon Company began manufacturing resistors in 1928 in St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania. SEI was formed in 1986 after the Stackpole Components Company was dissolved.
“The Stackpole name is still widely recognized within the industry and many of our customers, distributors and sales representatives have always referred to us as Stackpole”, commented Rob Hudspeth, SEI’s Director of Sales. “There are also many people who don’t know that SEI is Stackpole, and we want to make sure that people make that connection in order to improve our brand identity and awareness”, he added.
Kory Schroeder, Stackpole’s Product Engineering Manager commented, “In the engineering community the name Stackpole is synonymous with resistors solutions, particularly carbon comp resistors. That stands true today, as we have a broad line of quality resistor products across many technologies.”
